Solution

Janette's Solution

To allow more space for entertaining, An ‘L shaped’ gravel area  (laid on a geo-textile membrane to prevent weed growth), will be the main feature of the garden.

The garden area is to be enclosed with posts and rope swags to bring scents up to nose level, but still allowing views onto the path and patio.

A carefully positioned slim line conifer to hide the telegraph pole and a bird bath placed to be the main focal point from the sitting room.

So Antonia and Jonathan can watch the sun go down at the end of the day, a bench with wide arms for drinks has been selected. There is no room for a table.

The planting will be in true cottage garden style with catmint edging to soften the walls and amuse the cat.

Plan of the Harrogate makeover.
