A fragrant garden is possible throughout the year and even after dark as there are scented plants that attract night flying pollinators with perfume that carries on the breeze which is to the benefit of all that walk there.

Because of the short days in winter, there are many scented plants flowering in December and through to the Spring; like the Christmas box or the Algerian winter iris which is not only wonderful in the garden but also useful in an arrangement on the festive table.

A scented garden is also very sensual in that the foliage emits aromatic oils when people casually pass by or when crushed underfoot as in the case of thyme or camomile, but it is only through good planning that the perfumes will come together as a whole along with their visual impact.

Example: The Scented Garden

The client's brief was that they wanted the garden to perambulate and offer interest and mystery throughout the year.  As can be seen from their testimonial the garden has achieved this admirably.
