Solution

Janette's Solution

For this large garden we are going to add a Trompe l’oeil or trick of the eye on the wall to give additional interest and depth, by using a perspective trellis archway.

Rope edging, a bird bath and paving will all add to the illusion.

The addition of well rotted farmyard manure will help condition the soil.

Any turf that is removed will be re-used upside down to help retain moisture. This will be covered with a bark mulch to deter weeds as well as aiding water retention.

The plants have been chosen to add light and attract wildlife through their scent or berries.

The sun loving plants in the corner are to be moved to the south facing side of the garden and spaced accordingly.
