Front Gardens

A front garden is a public garden - it is the one that you, your visitors, the postman, milkman and dustman all walk through regularly. It provides the perfect challenge to come up with a scheme that provides interest throughout the year but is also low maintenance, as you don't particularly want to garden in the public eye.

Example: The Front Garden

This project was particularly fascinating as the house was a barn conversion and what was to be the front garden had previously been where the cows had been milked. Our aim was to design a front garden, which enhanced the individual character of the property, and provide a welcome to visitors. A split level pool provides sound and is an interesting focal point when driving or walking towards the front door; it is also the main view from indoors when walking down the staircase. A great deal of foliage plants were used in the scheme with an emphasis placed on contrasting leaf textures and scent; only the seasonal baskets need any regular attention.
