Native of North America where David
Douglas the famous Scottish plant hunter discovered it, in
the ten years that he was there 1824-1834. The name phlox
means flame and was used by Theophrastus for an
unidentified flower of that colour. Often regarded as a
rockery plant as it is low growing, it is evergreen and
looks superb at the front of borders. |
