Blue grass has evolved to protect the
leaves against damage by strong sunlight and to reduce
loss of water by transpiration. Happy in sunshine and poor
dry soils, they should never be fed as this often kills
them. Good at front of borders. A grass that is
particularly beautiful in leaf, forming as it does thick
tufts of blue-green wiry blades. Evergreen and
inclined to lose its silvery blue colour and become more
green in the winter months, when there is lack of
sunshine. Winter wet can also cause losses
of this grass. Excellent for edging or even in a pot. |
